Six Flags Great Adventure
Hey there welcome to my blog channel, or I should say welcome back. I am a coaster enthusiast and I, as you guessed already, simply love roller coasters. In all of my blogs I will be covering all the best coasters and their attributes in all the different parks across the United States. In this blog though I am gonna cover my top 5 favorite roller coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure over at Jackson, New Jersey.
I visited the park over the summer of 2019 with my family and the hospitality the park gave us was great and the line was not that big for a long weekend before school starts. The park was amazing and now let's get to the coasters!
5. THE JOKER
The Joker is a freestyle 4d coaster located at the entrance to the park. Yes, that is right, it is a 4d coaster, though it lacks airtime and all the other elements you will have in a normal coaster. This coaster has its own elements. I really love the hangtime you get in this coaster. This coaster turns you upside and down and inside out a lot of times, but you will have a great view of the lakefront and the park at this coaster's highest point. This coaster is made by the american manufacturer S&S Worldwide and it is 120 ft tall and has a 54 ft drop and it can reach up to 38 mph. Oh yeah believe me, 38 mph is really fast for a freestyle coaster. The Joker is a great coaster and highly recommend to try this one out every time you guys visit the park.
4. Bizarro
This ride replaced Medusa as it reopened as Bizarro in the 2008 2009 season. This B&M floorless coaster is 142 ft tall and has a 132 ft drop. This coaster has 7 inversions and can reach up to 61 mph.
The overall ride though isn't really smooth and has rough edges at times but the airtime you get in this ride is great and each inversion is special and you get amazing airtime in every single one of them. This is a good and the only floorless coaster in the park and it sure does serve its purpose.
3. Nitro
Nitro, the B & M steel coaster opened in 2001. Nitro is a 230 foot tall giant that has a 215 foot drop. This ride has it's unique element, the hammerhead turn, during this turn, riders will have tremendous airtime and might even feel light headed during this element of the ride. If you are the kind of person that loves a smooth airtime cycle then Nitro is the ride meant for you. This ride is amazing and very smooth. Its layout gives you a great view of the lakefront and the lush canopy layers surrounding the park.
2. King Da KA
1. El Torro

2. King Da KA
King Da Ka is an Intamin Steel Accelerator Coaster and is the worlds tallest and second fastest roller coaster. King Da Ka can reach up to 128 mph and is 456 ft tall and has a 418 ft drop. This coaster gets its nickname, ''The Giant'' because of it's drop at such a high speed. You will feel like being thrown out of the car and you will feel tremendous air time in this coaster during its drop. If you are the kind of person who has no fear of heights and loves air time, then this is the perfect coaster for you. This giant opened in 2005 and is one of the best roller coasters in the world.
1. El Torro
El Toro, “The Bull” in Spanish is by far the best wooden coaster in the world. This is an Intamin wooden coaster that opened in 2006. This coaster is 181 ft tall and has a 176 ft drop, this coaster is an outstanding attraction in the park. Reaching up to 70 mph, this coaster tosses you around like a bull and presses you down hard on the drops, but still this is a very smooth wooden coaster and you will have great air time in this ride, this wooden coaster is actually smoother than many other steel coasters.
I went on all of these roller coasters and they're really fun!
ReplyDeleteI went on all these roller coasters except the joker, but the summary you gave about it really makes me want to go on it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SIXFLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE!! I agree that all the rides you listed are a lot of fun except The Joker. I'm not a huge fan of the continuous spinning, ESPECIALLY not after eating! The review really makes me want to go back though!
